   1 To build this project from the sources direct from the cvs archive,
   2 you must install the prerequisites listed in README, plus the
   3 following:

   5         * Autoconf 2.58 (or later).

   7         * Automake 1.9.x (or later).

   9         * Gettext 0.14.5 (or later).

  11         * GNU M4 1.4.9 (or later).

  13         * pkg-config 0.21 (or later).

  15         * Gnulib, from CVS (see http://savannah.gnu.org/cvs/?group=gnulib).
  16           Note that Gnulib does not require any form of installation:
  17           simply checking it out into a directory is sufficient.

  19         * Texinfo 4.7 or later, to build the documentation.

  21 Once you have these installed, execute
  22         make -f Smake
  23 If you checked Gnulib out in a directory named `gnulib' at the same
  24 level as PSPP, then this is sufficient.  Otherwise, provide the
  25 location of GNULIB on the `make' command line:
  26         make -f Smake GNULIB=/gnulib/base/directory/name

  28 After executing Smake, you may configure the source tree in the usual
  29 way with ./configure, e.g.
  30         ./configure
